“TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE TOURISM”

The TUSOCO network and the GAM of RURRENABAQUE, through the Directorate of tourism, made the:

AWARENESS WORKSHOP

TOPIC: “PROPOSALS FOR CODES OF CONDUCT FOR TOURIST OPERATION IN JUNGLE

The day Friday, November 25, in the municipality of Rurrenabaque. The event will be a space to think, work and propose lines and codes of conduct that will achieve a more responsible, solidarity tourism community in Bolivia.

Where participants and exhibitors to share their experiences, reflect and achieve progress in the elaboration of the proposed codes and lines of conduct to value, preserve and respect the cultural premises, the heritage of the communities, reduce the environmental impact of activities and negative attitudes and finally, achieving a sustainable and responsible tourism, social and economically strengthening the positive impacts and mitigating the negative ones.

60 representatives of approximately 25 organizations among enterprises of Community solidarity-based tourism, municipal representatives from different departments of the country as the Rurrenabaque Autonomous Municipal Government, the Vice Ministry of tourism, academic bodies as the University autonomous of Beni, as well as representatives of community/rural social organizations participate in the event.

The TUSOCO network, which started work since 2005, aims to make Community solidarity tourism in Bolivia a socio-economic activity that enhance the cultural, social, historical, and natural heritage of the peasant and indigenous communities, contributing to the reduction of poverty, improving the quality of life and reducing the rates of migration to the cities.

The event will be held in the main hall of the GAM of Rurrenabaque, on Friday, November 25, present, in the framework of the project strengthening the role of the tourism community in the conservation of the ecosystem!, which runs the TUSOCO network together with WWF and the support of the Office of tourism of the GAM of Rurrenabaque.
